TODAY
As our new web site debuts today, I want to take a moment and share
some thoughts on our company’s transformation during the last year.
Although CAUSE AND EFFECT has been “perfecting” our cause marketing
blueprint during the last few years, I must say the last few months
have been the most rewarding. We have enhanced our position in many
ways.
Perhaps most of my enthusiasm comes from two major shifts we’ve
made. First, we have added some very intriguing cause marketing
platforms as we defined our core “Areas of Concern.” Second, we’ve
become a true
eco-conscious “green” firm, both in the causes we
manage and by exercising
eco-friendly business practices. We are more than passionate about
our eco-friendly “Green Schoolhouse Series,” where more than 2,500
volunteers will help design, build, and maintain six unique
schoolhouses in the valley annually. Two Schoolhouses will become
safe after school
child-care centers for children of low-income
families. The other four will be full-fledged,
environmentally-sound, green facilities to be utilized to further
educate our children about becoming eco-friendly.
It is my hope that through the volunteer efforts of many, we will be
able to receive the distinction of LEED For Schools Certification –
an honor most challenging to achieve, but most precious to receive.
This certification is awarded by the U. S. Green Building Council
(www.usgbc.org) only after adhering to strict eco-friendly practices
and processes. It is our hope that this accomplishment will
demonstrate our commitment and dedication to the future of
eco-friendly living. And what better way to start the
eco-commitment
than with the future of our country, our children.
It is my hope that somehow, someday, someway you find a way to
become involved in one of our Schoolhouse Series or other
eco-friendly causes. It will be a rare experience you can share with
your grandkids tomorrow —or your grandparents today.

A DAY IN
THE LIFE
A day in the life as a Media and PR Coordinator here at Cause And
Effect is many things; the one thing it is not is boring. It is fun,
exciting, ever-changing, cutting edge, engaging and rewarding. On
any given day you’ll find me buried in a pile of glossy magazines
doing research or chatting away with television stations; flying
through newspapers and brainstorming exciting and innovative ways to
market our clients through strategic media and PR tools.
My time here with Cause And Effect Evolutions has allowed me to
become engaged in a world of eco-friendly and educational causes. I
am constantly learning something new about sustainability, the
importance of community involvement, our causes, the Latino
community here in Phoenix and, most importantly, myself. And
everyday I am learning more.

MY
PATH
As a student of Sociology I dreamed of one day finding a fulfilling
career where I would be empowered to promote positive change in my
community. Today my role at Cause And Effect allows me to be the
social entrepreneur I’ve dreamed of becoming. My job enables me to
foster the link between the corporate world and the nonprofit world
creating a solid union for strong platforms. Such a union allows
for change to happen on a large effective scale that would not be
possible without the partnerships. We live in a critical period in
time. It is essential to be good citizens whether it be on a micro
or macro level every person, organization, and corporation needs to
come together to address pertinent issues such as the environment
and education. “Community cannot long feed on itself, it can only
flourish with the coming of others from beyond: their unknown and
undiscovered sisters and brothers” -Howard Thurman.

PROFESSIONAL &
PERSONAL CONNECTION
When I began my training as a journalist and writer, I never thought
I’d be able to find a career that combined my love for writing with
my passion for community service. It wasn’t until I began my
internship with Cause And Effect Evolutions that I found my niche as
the Nonprofit Public Relations Coordinator Intern.
Cause And Effect’s unique partnership with the Brighten A Life
nonprofit organization allows me to focus on promoting causes that
benefit my community. Additionally, the collaboration brings a high
level of variety to my day-to-day activities. On any given day, I
can find myself generating a press release about the Green
Schoolhouse series or creating a sponsorship newsletter outlining
the benefits of partnering with Cause And Effect.
The personal connection I feel to my work makes each day at Cause
And Effect important and meaningful, while providing the opportunity
to learn valuable career skills.

MY INTERNSHIP
My position as an intern has been nothing but educational. Although
this is not my first time working in the profession, this is my
first time at a company in which I feel the impact of literally all
my tasks. The value of every single person that works or interns
with Cause And Effect Evolutions is significant. I am amazed and
love what Cause And Effect stands for. And I am fascinated by their push
for Green, as it is a passion of my own.
The Hispanic Cause Marketing side of what we do is amazing as well.
A student of the W.P. Carey School of Business, it’s exciting to put
my college education to work! One doesn’t realize how untapped the
local Hispanic market is, even in a state where the population is
over 30% Latino. Also, as a Spanish language speaker and with a deep
understanding of the local culture (having lived in the valley for
15 years), I am helping our team practice their Hispanic Market
goals. I am also learning that Cause And Effect is not alone in
creating support to the Hispanic Market as I build relationships
with local nonprofit organization who are also excited about our
efforts.
I’m simply learning everything I can. It’s exciting.
